Curumim is ESG

ESG, a term widely used today, refers to the good practices companies can adopt with an eye to caring for the environment and for people, and even to transparency and management. This is a trend that is here to stay. Environmental practices include:

  • Fighting deforestation;
  • Use of organic raw materials that give priority to local sourcing;
  • Waste management;
  • Water and effluent treatment;
  • Maintaining and enhancing biodiversity;

OUR MISSION
To be a benchmark in products of Amazonian origin, ensuring quality, accuracy and traceability (identifiable product origin) — since our production is based on sustainable extractivism and the organic cultivation of native species.

NON-TIMBER FOREST PRODUCTS
In the State of Amazonas, harvesting fruits, fibres, leaves, saps, oils and seeds for the livelihood and subsistence of those who live there is nothing new. These activities are known as “non-timber extractivism”, and they are widely practised by the families who depend on the resources of the Amazon Rainforest.

Such practices have faced difficulties in carrying customs and knowledge forward: the harvesters who for many years were concerned only with gathering sustainably, as a means of subsistence, are today fighting an immense battle to keep the forest standing — against wildfires, against threats from illegal loggers and land grabbers, and against other pressures.

We emphasise that it is from the resources of the forest that these harvesters benefit economically, culturally and socially, always mindful of carrying out this activity sustainably. Strengthening these people and their groups is therefore of great value: by upholding these good practices, we contribute directly and indirectly to the conservation and maintenance of the Amazon Rainforest.

OUR VISION
To be a benchmark in sustainable products of Amazonian origin, with identifiable provenance assured by the accuracy of our quality and traceability processes.

Our supply chain is built on partnerships with non-timber harvesters and sustainable cultivation, bringing together people, communities and riverside dwellers.
